Police identify victims of the Buffalo Tops Market Shooting


Police have identified the victims of Saturday’s mass shooting at Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo, New York. These are the names of the 10 victims:

  • Roberta A. Drury. 32
  • Margus D. Morrison 52
  • Andre Mackneil, 53
  • Aaron Salter, 55
  • Geraldine Talley, 62
  • Celestine Chaney (65).
  • Heyward Patterson 67
  • Katherine Massey 72
  • Pearl Young, 77
  • Ruth Whitfield (86).

The identities of the injured are: 

  • Zaire Goodman, 20
  • Jennifer Warrington 50
  • Christopher Braden, 55

According to police, they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from Erie County Medical Center.

According to authorities, the 18-year old white male shot 10 people to death and researched the local population before arriving at the scene a day ahead to do reconnaissance in order to kill as many Black people as possible.

According to The Associated Press, Payton Genedron was known by law enforcement officials after threatening to attack Susquehanna valley High School in Conklin (New York) at the time of his graduation last June. New York State Police reported that Gendron was transported to a local hospital after troopers responded. 

Joseph Gramaglia of the Buffalo Police Department stated that Gendron did not have any further contact with law enforcement officers after his release.

Gendron’s parents, Paul and Pamela Gendron are both civil engineers who work for the New York state Department of Transportation. According to reports, they were interviewed by the FBI. They are cooperating with authorities.
