Police warn the public against approaching a Warrington prisoner who is a convicted murderer.
Shane Farrington (39), was last seen at HMP Thorn Cross, Appleton, at 6.45pm on Thursday March 24, 2019.
Cheshire Police launched a manhunt. They are asking anyone with any information about his whereabouts, to contact them. Liverpool Echo.
Farrington was convicted of manslaughter after he attacked and killed a prisoner at HMP Peterborough in September 2008.
He once ran from prison when he gave officers the slip in 2018 while being treated for a head injury at a Norfolk hospital.
He ran through several car parks, fields and Norwich City’s training grounds before being caught around two hours later.
Farrington last wore a dark top with white writing at the front, blue jeans and black shoes.
According to police, he was also carrying a dark-colored rucksack.
He is well-known for his connections within the Peterborough area.
Superintendent Mike Evans said: “We currently have numerous officers carrying out a variety of searches to locate Farrington.
“While our enquiries are ongoing we’re urging anyone who sees Farrington to not approach him but to instead call Cheshire Constabulary immediately on 999 quoting IML 1230000.
“Officers will be maintaining a presence around the prison and in the local area to provide reassurance to the community. If you have any concerns please do speak to one of them.”
