Powerball Jackpot reaches $1 Billion, but there is no winner yet


Powerball’s second largest jackpot has been reached and is expected to reach $1 billion by the Oct. 31 drawing.

Lucky players who win this drawing will be eligible to win the largest Powerball Jackpot since 2016, which was $1.586B. Powerball reported.

After the Oct. 29 drawing, no ticket could match all the numbers drawn, the jackpot was increased.

In the next drawing, the search for the lucky winner will continue. The lucky ticket holder has the option to receive $1 billion over a period 29 years or one cash payment of $497.3million.

Even though there was no lucky jackpot winner in this instance, some players were able to pick a few numbers that led to them scoring. “smaller” prizes.

Six ticket holders were awarded $1 million each for matching five white balls. One player from Florida was awarded $ 2,000,000 by winning the Power Play feature. 

On Oct. 29, 80 tickets were selected to win the $50,000 prize and 17 won $150,000 prizes. Overall, prizes totaling $38 million were won by 3.8 million tickets.

Since the Aug. 3 jackpot win of $206.9 million, the Oct. 31 draw will be the 38th in this jackpot run.

Tickets for Powerball are $2 per play. The odds of winning the Jackpot are 1 in 292.2 Million. So if you believe the odds are in favor, grab a ticket.
