Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Release the First Birthday Photo for Daughter Lilibet

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor’s first birthday. To celebrate, the Duke & Duchess of Sussex shared a photo of the one year-old in celebration. PEOPLE. The photo was taken during Markle and Harry’s trip to the United Kingdom in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. 

A spokesperson for Lilibet shared that the family celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage (the couple’s former residence) on Saturday. They celebrated by enjoying a “casual, intimate backyard picnic.”Harry and Markle were joined by Misan Harriman, Markle’s friend. “candid, spontaneous photograph”Lilibet “that the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today.”The adorable little girl is dressed in a blue and white dress, with a bow in her hair. Lilibet got to enjoy a specially-made cake as part of the festivities. PEOPLEReports stated that Claire Ptak was assigned to create a cake in honor of Lilibet’s 1st birthday. Ptak was the same baker Harry and Markle used to bake their wedding cake in May 2018. According to Harry and Markle’s spokesperson, they “remain incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.”The couple also said that they were “amazed to learn that people around the world made donations”In honor Lilibet’s Birthday, the World Central Kitchen donated over $100,000 The rep shared that the duke of Sweden and the duchess of Luxembourg had donated over $100,000 to the World Central Kitchen in honor Lilibet’s birthday. “extended their gratitude to all who have shown support for the organization, which is especially near to their hearts.”

Harry and Markle traveled to Britain with Lilibet, their three-year old son Archie, in celebration of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The couple returned to California on Sunday, one day after Lilibet’s birth. Lilibet was born in California on June 2021, so this was her first visit to the U.K. This was Lilibet’s first visit to her father, so it was also her first chance to meet Queen Elizabeth. 

Entertainment Tonight According to reports, the monarch met Lilibet after Trooping The Colour on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Harry and Markle’s child Archie. Archie had met the Queen before, but this was his first visit to the U.K. since six months.
