Prosecutors say 2 Iowa Teens killed Spanish teacher because of a poor grade

Prosecutors claim that two Iowa teens allegedly murdered their high school Spanish teacher because of a poor grade. Des Moines Register reported.

According to the Des Moines Register, prosecutors filed Tuesday a court document alleging a possible motive.

Inside Edition obtained the document as a response to defense motions. The Wednesday hearing will see arguments about whether to suppress evidence against Willard Miller (17) and Jeremy Goodale (17), who are accused of killing Nohema Graber (66), in Fairfield, Iowa last November.

Miller and Goodale will both be tried as adults. They each face a first degree murder charge for allegedly killing Graber with a baseball bat in 2021. Her body was discovered the next day covered in a tarp.

Goodale, Miller both pleaded guilty to the charges.

Iowa’s penalty for first-degree murder convictions is life imprisonment. Iowa Supreme Court orders that juveniles convicted even of the most serious crimes be allowed parole.

“The poor grade is believed to be the motive behind the murder of Graber which directly connects Miller,”The court document was filed by Chauncey Moulding (the Jefferson county attorney) and Scott Brown (the assistant Iowa attorney general).

Miller initially denied any involvement in Graber’s disappearance but “later stated he had knowledge of everything but did not participate”According to Inside Edition’s court document, it is.

Miller said that Miller and his accomplices were the killers. “roving group of masked kids”According to Inside Edition, he was forced to give his wheelbarrow to move her body and drive her van out of the park.

Miller will be tried in Council Bluffs on March 20, 2023. Goodale’s trial in Davenport is scheduled for Dec. 5, 2022. CBS News reported.
