Kate Middleton releases photos to mark her 40th Birthday
With a sweet Instagram message to the Duchess, The Queen wishes her a Happy 40th Birthday.
The official royal accounts showed four photos of the monarch with her grandson, which included four pictures.
Her message read: Wishing “The Duchess of Cambridge a very happy 40th birthday today!”She also added the red balloon emoji.
Two snaps of Kate and the Queen performing joint royal engagements are shown, while a third captures them sharing a cake at a Camilla event.
The last shot shows the Queen, Prince William Prince George, and Princess Charlotte at Trooping of the Colour.
The Queen also shared the new photos Kate shared to commemorate the occasion on her Instagram stories.
The Duchess will be spending the day with her closest friends and family. Wills will also be there. In June, the Duke will turn 40.
The Queen is expected throw the party, with Windsor Castle and Sandringham being two of the most likely venues.
Similar extravagant bashes were held in the past to celebrate important birthdays of multiple family members at once.
Back in June 2000 a huge do was held at Windsor to celebrate Prince Andrew’s 40th birthday, Princess Anne’s 50th, Princess Margaret’s 70th and William’s 18th.
According to a source, the Mirror was told by: “It’s very much a scaled-down occasion this year for the Duchess, who will celebrate privately with her family.
“Of course she is mindful of the current situation. She will be surrounded by loved-ones and that’s all that matters.”
To celebrate her 40th birthday, Kate shared three new portraits taken by Paolo Roversi.
He said: “Taking the portrait of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, was a true honour for me, and a moment of pure joy.
“I was moved by her warmth and friendly welcome and enchanted by her shining eyes that reflected the loveliness of her soul and her smile showing the generosity of her heart.
