Chris Waddle has attacked Marcus Rashford. He insists that Manchester United must stop picking him.
After a string of poor performances, Rashford is currently in one of the most severe slumps of his career. The England winger Rashford has had a difficult time securing a regular spot in the United starting team this season. He scored just five goals.
After undergoing a shoulder surgery, he missed the first two months of the campaign. However, he has returned to fitness and looks a lot better. Gareth Southgate will name Rashford’s latest England squad on Thursday. It is believed that Rashford is considering his United future.
In United’s 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, he was used as a substitute for the second-half. They were eliminated from the Champions League at 16 stage. Waddle, an ex-england winger, has criticized Rashford’s body language. He believes that he is desperate to leave Old Trafford.
Waddle won 62 caps for Three Lions and said: “Some of the players have been here too long. Rashford doesn’t look like he wants to be here. Whether he’s lost confidence or belief, he’s definitely lost something.
Man Utd should consider selling Rashford Comment below.
“There years ago we were talking about what a player he could have been. In the final third (against Atletico) there was nothing. It’s down the sides where United have real problems.
“They had wingers who made things happen. They were open to taking on new players. All we have now is players who play with the ball, pass back or in.
“There’s no effect on the flanks. Marcus Rashford looked absolutely terrible when he came on. Why do they keep playing him when he doesn’t want to be there, supposedly? I don’t get that.”
