Robert Durst, the real estate mogul and entrepreneur, has died at the young age of 78. According to Chip Lewis, Durst was convicted last September of murder.
Durst was currently serving a life sentence in prison for the murder of Susan Berman, his friend. He was taken to the hospital for testing before his death, but went into cardiac arrest and then died, Lewis told The New York Times.
Durst was temporarily placed on a ventilator a day after his sentence last year. He was fighting COVID-19. He had bladder cancer, and other health problems.
Durst was the subject in a HBO documentary series entitled “Durst” (2015). “The Jinx,”He said that he “killed them all”Turn on a mic.
Los Angeles prosecutors claimed that Durst shot and murdered Berman at her Beverly Hills home in 2000 in an attempt to stop Berman from cooperating with police in their investigation of the disappearance of Kathie in 1982 and the presumed slaying.
Durst had never been charged in his wife’s disappearance and previously denied having anything to do with it.Â
Durst was the son of a wealthy real-estate dynasty, which also co-owns One World Trade Center.Â
The 78-year old denied killing Berman during his trial but said that if he did, he would lie about it.
