Action for Children provides emotional and practical support for children. The money raised by Federer and Middleton will be used to fund activities for the most disadvantaged children. The LTA Tennis Foundation will use this money to support tennis coaching in low-income communities.

Tennis Stars Come Together For The Laver Cup

Federer and Middleton will raise this money by hosting a tennis tournament called the Laver Cup Open practice day. The two organizations will split the proceeds from ticket sales.

This is the first Laver Cup event to take place in London. Open Practice Day attendees will be able to see Federer join Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray for Team Europe.

They’ll face off against Team Rest of the World, which will include tennis pros like Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, USA’s Taylor Fritz and Jack Sock, and Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman.

The Laver Cup will host a day for tennis for children, supported by Action for Children or the LTA Serves initiative. In the hope that they will encourage their participation in tennis, the kids will have the opportunity to play against Federer.

Middleton’s Love Of Tennis

The Duchess is a long-time fan of the sport and became the royal patron of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in 2016 after Queen Elizabeth. Her Anmer Hall home even has a court for tennis, where Prince William and she can play against one another. The royal couple also takes their kids—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—to a London tennis club for lessons.

Middleton and Federer are also friends over many years. He and his wife even attended Middleton’s sister Pippa’s wedding in 2017. Middleton’s partnership with Federer seems like the perfect way for the duchess to pair her love of tennis and her commitment to helping those in need.
