Rooney MaraSoon you will be able to enjoy Audrey HepburnMany fans are unhappy about this. Twitter is engaged due to another a-lister being passed over. Here’s what’s going on.
AppleTV+ Coming Soon
Luca Guadagnino will direct a Hepburn biopic. Mara will portray the legendary Roman Holiday star and scored a producer’s credit as well. The film is already drawing hatred many years before its release. Hepburn was an icon whose life spans decades. This is a promising role that could earn Mara an Academy Award.
Fans Wanted Something Else
Lily Collins, the best-known for Emily in ParisHepburn has a passing resemblance in her appearance. She’s also a fan of Hepburn’s and has posed as the SabrinaSometimes, she is a star. Collins was a beloved star and her fans are furious. They quickly took to social media to vent their anger.
Some think she’s been disrespected, for she’s been working hard in films like Les Miserables. This logic is a little flimsy, but it’s an argument presented to dispel the idea that Collins is only capable of Emily in Paris-level acting.
Another Twitter user pointed to the similarity between Kristen Stewart and Collins. Stewart’s reputation was warped thanks to the monumental success of Twilight, but she’s earning tons of buzz for her role of Princess Diana.
Others may feel differently. Hepburn did win an Oscar for her very first film, so perhaps Collins just wasn’t up to snuff.
This whole issue sounds a little familiar, doesn’t it? Nicole Kidman recently portrayed Lucille in Being The Ricardos. Despite Ball’s family praising her performance, fans still don’t think she was the right choice. Debra Messing was a campaigner for the role. She can now only see Kidman take home a Golden Globe.
Collins (Probably) Doesn’t Care
Collins, at 32, is not far from the globe enough to make more than one Hepburn biopic. She still has plenty to be proud of this week, despite that. Collins has announced that the renewal of Emily in ParisA third and fourth season are planned. This alone should keep her busy throughout the filmmaking process for this Hepburn flick.
Collins will not speak out if she feels any vengeance toward Mara.
