Season 5: Why it isn’t happening

OzarkSeason 4 marked the end of’s story. Season 5 ended. Fans who hoped that the series would continue are out of luck. Netflix made the announcement years before the final episodes aired. OzarkAfter its fourth season, it would be ended. 

It was reported that it was happening in June 2020. OzarkWould Season 4 ends. It was also announced that Season 4 would split into two parts with seven episodes each. Chris Mundy, Showrunner, released a statement in gratitude to Netflix for allowing him to end the series as he saw fit. “We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes saga right,”Mundy said. “It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on-screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.”

Cindy Holland, former Vice President of Netflix’s Original Content was a commentator on the news and praised it. Ozarkteam responsible for several seasons of television that is thrilling. Her statement began: “Ozark is a gripping drama that has captivated audiences all around the world and garnered tremendous critical acclaim.”Holland continued “We’re so grateful to Chris, Jason, Laura, Julia and the entire cast and crew for all their tireless dedication to the show and can’t wait to see how the Byrdes’ journey comes to a close.”

Even though it was reported OzarkThe show would be ending but that doesn’t mean it was less heartbreaking for the fans. Many people wanted to know why Season 4 would end. In an interview with ColliderJason Bateman, executive producer of Star and Executive Producer explained that they did NOT want to reach the fearful point of “jumping the shark.”He said, “So, given the intelligence of Marty Byrde and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), if they keep going at this pitch for much longer, they’re either going to be killed or put in jail. The alternative is to flatten out that pitch so that you don’t end up jumping the shark, but then you start stalling just for additional episodes and season.”

The first part of OzarkSeason 4 premiered on Netflix January. The second half was released in April, a few months later. Bateman was not the only one. OzarkStarring Laura Linney, Julia Garner and Sofia Hublitz.
