Sir Alex Ferguson’s ‘disgust’ spotted by Man Utd fans in Old Trafford crowd

Eagle-eyed Manchester United fans spotted the ‘disgust’ on legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s face during their dire FA Cup defeat to Middlesbrough.

The Red Devils lost on penalties to the Championship side and struggled to break down what was a stubborn Boro defence.

It was yet another dreadful performance from United, who have rarely impressed this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or his replacement Ralf Rangnick.

That trend continued at Old Trafford on Friday night, with United putting in yet another lacklustre display, which ultimately saw them dumped out of the FA Cup, their final realistic chance to win a trophy this season.

As has been customary since his retirement in 2013, Ferguson was watching the game from his seat in the director’s box.

The match was broadcast live on ITV, with the cameras frequently picking out a stony-faced Ferguson as United struggled to defeat.

Ferguson’s glum expression was not missed by United fans watching on from home, with many of the belief the Scot was ‘disgusted’ with the hosts’ performance.

“For his age, I will advise Ferguson to stop watching man united match. It’s not good for his health,” one wrote.
