Katia Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, has written an open letter to her star brother after hearing the sad news about the Manchester United forward’s tragic passing.
The heartbreaking news came Monday night that the Portuguese striker had lost his baby boy. His long-term partner Georgina Rodro had just given birth to twin boys and girls. The pair received many condolences and tributes. Ronaldo’s sister posted an emotional tribute to her on Instagram.
Katia’s heartfelt message to Ronaldo, which also included a reference back to Ronaldo’s father Dinis who died in September 2005 from liver failure, was: “Our little angel is already on daddy’s lap. I love you and my heart is with you over there.
“May God take care of you and strengthen your path more and more. Our little girl is there, firm and strong and full of health and is going to show us with every day that only love matters.”
Katia’s post included photos of Georgina and Cristiano alongside her children. Ronaldo posted a statement to social media earlier in the evening about the death of his son.
The Portugal international wrote: “It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our baby boy. It’s the greatest pain any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez.”
Georgina and Ronaldo announced their twin pregnancy back in October. Georgina had already confirmed that they would be having twins two months prior to the gender-reveal video in which they shared the news with their children. This devastating news comes only weeks after Georgina posted a touching message to Ronaldo in anticipation of their new arrivals.
She posted the following on Instagram: “Every day by your side is happy and special. We love you indefinitely. Thank you so much to the best dad in the world.”
