Thierry Mugler, 72, has passed away. His team announced the sad news via his Instagram account.
According to the social media post the legendary French fashion designer has died on Sunday.
At the moment, there is no known cause of death.
This post was shared with her 606,000 followers in English and French.
A blank black image showed the cation reading: “#RIP We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday January 23rd 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
It is unknown if Mugler was ill at the time of his death.
Mugler rose to fame in 1980 when he showcased his designers on runways as well as in stage shows.
The designer is a legend and has worn many of the stars’ clothes, including Kim Kardashian (Lady Gaga), Katy Perry, Rihanna. David Bowie, George Michael, and many others.
Mugler stepped out of retirement in 2019 to dress Kim Kardashian, Keeping Up with The Kardashians’ star, at the Met Gala.
She is also a star in the perfume industry, having released several bestsellers, including Angel Nova in 2020.
Nearly 40,000 tributes were sent to the star since the tragic news of his passing.
On his Instagram post, Model Balla Hadid wrote: “Nonononono,”Then, follow it up with a sad face emoticon.
Fashion model Georgia May Jagger said: “I cannot believe this is true sending love to you all. Thierry was a force of creativity and kindness.”
One fan was added “Can’t believe Manfred Thierry Mugler has passed away at age 73, may he rest in peace.”
Another one: “Rest easy to Manfred Thierry Mugler, one of the greatest fashion designers of all time. His impact on the fashion industry will continue to live on forever.”
