Rumours about a transfer: Barcelona is in talks with Wolves’ Traore

Tottenham ’s January transfer window is at risk of becoming a disaster with the window closing in a matter of days.

Spurs failed to sign any players in this month’s transfer window, despite Antonio Conte taking control in November. Conte is aiming to bolster his squad as they seek to finish in the top four.

Porto’s Luis Diaz emerged as an exciting target following reports, although it looks as though the north London club have missed out on that one after having a bid rejected earlier this week.

Liverpool have since swooped in to line up a £50m deal for the winger which is expected to be completed in the coming days.

In addition to losing Diaz to the club, they have also given up on Adama Traore (Wolves winger), after Conte refused to convert the Spaniard into a wing-back.

Traore is now in Barcelona and has signed a loan for six months with the option to purchase at the end.

However, Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat could potentially be the first new signing through the door at Tottenham.

Spurs offered Conte one of their players in an attempt to sign him from Serie A. According to reports, Conte seemed happy to let go this month.

According to an Italian journalist Alfredo PedullaSpurs offered Giovani Lo Celso in a swap to sign the Moroccan from Fiorentina.

Conte wanted to sell Lo Celso this month, and he tried to do so by including him as part of the deal.

Real Betis signed the 25 year-old permanently in January 2020. However, he has been primarily involved in cup competitions this season with only nine Premier League appearances in 2021-22.

The Italians rejected the idea and refused to take on Lo Celso.

Regardless of what the outcome, there has not been any agreement between the clubs to bring Amrabat into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Amrabat is currently in Africa Cup of Nations duty, along with his country. They are preparing for Sunday’s quarter-final match with Egypt.

This could potentially slow down any advancements with him being in a different continent, and time isn’t exactly in abundance ahead of Monday’s deadline.

Spurs could already be looking elsewhere as they are currently in discussions with Juventus regarding a possible loan agreement for Dejan Kulusevski. The deal would include an option to purchase or an obligation to.
