Jake Paul v Tommy Fury: Tale of the tape

Tyron Woodley is “excited” to get a second shot at Jake Paul after the YouTube star’s fight with Tommy Fury was cancelled.

Paul was due to face Fury in Tampa, Florida on December 18, but the Love Island star pulled out, with sources claiming an injury forced him from the bout.

And Woodley’s manager Malki Kawa has said his client is “excited” to get the fight that he feels his client deserved, after the pair verbally agreed to a rematch following their August split decision.

Woodley lost on the judges’ scorecards after their first meeting, but Paul said that he would give him a second shot if he got a tattoo saying “I love Jake Paul”, which Woodley did.

And Kawa told Mirror Fighting that he was excited to get the short notice deal done for the ex-UFC welterweight champion to step in to face Paul.

“I’m excited to get this deal done,” Kawa said in a statement. “And to have Tyron have the fight he was supposed to originally have anyway.”

It remains to be seen if Woodley will once again weigh in at 190lbs like their last meeting, and whether it will be an eight-round contest.

Woodley rocked Paul in the fourth round of their meeting back in August at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and took the YouTube star the distance for the first time in his career.

The pair shared an intense rivalry in the build-up to the bout, after Paul taunted Woodley while he was cornering Ben Askren in April.
