The U.S. Department of Justice has released an article Statement On Aug. 9, a federal case was filed against a Californian man accused of inducing young girls to film themselves in his home. “sexually explicit ways.”
Twenty-eight-year-old Jonathan Garcia was sentenced to 25 years in prison along with 20 years of supervised release once out of custody.
On May 2, Garcia pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography.
Garcia, according to the statement, admitted in his plea agreement that he posed as a 15 year-old boy to have conversations about sending letters with a nine-year old girl. “naughty”Images can be traded for Robux, an online gaming currency that can be used to purchase Roblox online gaming platforms.
According to the U.S Department of Justice, Garcia was sent three explicit videos by the victim in November 2019.
The victim’s mother found the correspondence online and reported Garcia to the Ontario Police Department. Garcia then began an investigation.
A search of Garcia’s home revealed several phones and “meticulously maintained digital folders” harboring child pornography including girls ranging from 11 to 14 years old.
According to the release Garcia was interviewed with police and told that he had. “admitted to contacting other minor girls online for photos and videos since 2015 and estimated that he probably contacted between 50-100 girls,”According to the plea agreement.
“This was not a one-time error in judgement or slip in impulse control but a years-long, premediated, campaign to satisfy his sexual interest,”According to the Department of Justice, these statements were made by prosecutors.
Garcia was taken into federal custody in March 2020, after his arrest.
The FBI and Ontario Police Department investigated Garcia.
