The Met Office has issued warnings for millions of Brits about the dangers of dangerous ice, as widespread snow and freezing temperatures continue to plague the country.
The yellow weather warnings are in effect for ice across South West England, Wales and almost all of Scotland.
According to The Met Office, those regions can be expected: “Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
“There may be icy patches on untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths.
“Some roads and railways may be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.”

These warnings will remain in effect until at least 10 a.m. today.
Many Brits will see snowfalls return in force, and they are expected to last at least until the weekend.
According to reports, the regions of Scotland around Inverness or Aberdeen will have at least two to three inches of ground on their feet when they get up in the morning. WXCharts.

The North East and North West will both see 2 to 3 cms of snow, with Newcastle being the most wintery area in England.
Northern and central Wales could also experience some snow, but Northern Ireland seems to be free of snow at the moment.
People who miss out on the snow may still experience a very miserable day.

Alex Deakin, Met Office meteorologist explained: “The showers will be a real mixture of rain, sleet and some snow, particularly inland and especially over any hills.
“There is always the possibility of things becoming icy if there are items falling from the sky and temperatures dropping below freezing.”
Once again, many regions will see the mercury take an icy plunge into negative digits today.

WXCharts predict bitter lows of 8C for large areas of Scotland, while Wales and northern England will see temperatures between -1C and -2C in their morning.
According to the Met Office temperatures should begin to rise by the afternoon, with temperatures of 4C to 5C expected for southern-central England.
Northern England and Scotland should return to 3C. Wales is expected to rise to 6C.
