As recaptured Alabama convict Casey White makes an appearance in court, new details are emerging about the final moments of the jail guard accused of helping him escape.
Vicky White, former deputy sheriff, was found dead by a coroner while on the phone with a 911 operator in Indiana during a high-speed chase. You can hear her panicking and desperate voice.
“Please stop! The airbags are going to go off and kill us. Casey! Airbags are going off. Let’s get out and run…Don’t kill us,”White stated.
U.S. Marshals ended the chase with their getaway car. The 11-day chase came to an abrupt halt when U.S. Marshals drove their getaway car into the marshals.

Vicky White was able to escape the car by shooting herself, but she was still breathing with her finger on trigger. She died hours later in the hospital.
“What in the world possessed her to do this, we’ll never know,”Rick Singleton, Lauderdale County Sheriff.
A car-wash manager tells Inside Edition he alerted cops to the fugitives’ Ford pickup truck, which they abandoned inside the car wash. It was a vital tip.

Next month, Casey White will be on trial for the 2015 murder of Connie Ridgeway. Austin, her son, is eager to see justice done.
“It’s never over ‘til it’s over, but we’ve got our shot again,” Austin said.
Before the jail escape, Vicky White was due to be named employee of the year at the sheriff’She worked in the same department.
