West Ham still chasing Jesse Lingard – but Newcastle willing to pay Man Utd £3m now

Newcastle and West Ham are in a collision course with Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard.

This experienced midfielder is just one of many players considering leaving Old Trafford.

Lingard was not present under Ralf Rangnick, interim manager.

But he thrived at West Ham last term on a 6-month loan and scored nine goals in 16 matches.

Eddie Howe, Newcastle boss, believes that the United ace could make a similar impact on St James’ Park.

And with Lingard out of contract in the summer, the Toon are willing to hand over in excess of £3million to sign him now.

Jesse Lingard has many options in 2022. He could stay at Old Trafford and leave at the end of the season for nothing.

However, David Moyes is still an admirer and a return to east London is on the horizon.

West Ham, despite Newcastle’s rich pockets under their new ownership aren’t interested in getting into a long-running bidding war.

Which place do you believe Jesse Lingard will play his football next February? What would you do if you were Lingard? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.

The Hammers could also count themselves as direct competitors to the Red Devils in Premier League right now, which could work against them.

West Ham are fourth in the table. They also travel to Old Trafford next week for a crunch clash.
