Many performers in the recording industry have careers that are full of peaks and valleys. The public’s taste in music can be notoriously fickle. Once someone has a hit song, or album, their fans may drift away.

Sean Kingston, a popular American-Jamaican singer and rapper, is a perfect example of this career rollercoaster. There have been many eyebrows raised by his relative absence from the collective radar screen for quite some time.

You may be familiar with his 2007 success with the song “Beautiful Girls.”He went where? Did his accident on a jet ski derail him professionally? Sean Kingston where are you today?

His Third and Second Albums were Commercial Flops

He Survived A Near Death Experience In 2011

He has not yet released his fourth studio album

Kingston explained why Kingston chose this time in his life to return to the spotlight. It was clear that he was feeling energized and both artistically as well as emotionally primed.

“I just feel like the time is now,”He stated. “I’ve been writing a lot of music behind the scenes. I’ve been writing a lot of hits for a lot of artists…Chris Brown, Lil Mosey. I’ve been writing hits for a lot of people, but I just felt like, now is the time for me to come back, for me to tell my story again, for me to get—I just feel like…with COVID and everything that’s going on, they need feel-good music.”

Despite his dazzling image, he’s had to face legal issues

Kingston has had some interesting encounters with the law. 2013 It was reported thatCarissa Capeloto, a woman who claimed she was rape victim to Kingston, filed a $5 million suit against Kingston. “forced into sex with Kingston, his bodyguard, and a band member in 2010 in Kingston’s hotel room, following the musician’s appearance at a Justin Bieber concert.”

In 2020 TMZKingston was once again in legal trouble for not paying the bill for heavy-duty jewelry. He was charged with grand theft and was placed under arrest.

Even more negative headlines followed, this time in 2021. TMZ reportedKingston “allegedly punched and pulled a firearm on a music video director who had been staying in his home.” The supposed target of Kingston’s anger filed a police report, but no official charges have been filed.

Other Ventures

Kingston’s social consciousness surfaced in a few ways. Kingston released a PSA on DoSomething.org, encouraging teens to become active in their community.
