According to reports, he wanted to replicate the circus environment in which contestants were doubled up as audience members to win prizes through a variety games. Holly Hallstrom, Dian Parkinson and Janice Pennington were the original models. Sometimes called “Women”, they were also known as “Barker’s Beauties,”According to reports, they made around $2,000 per week. This may seem like a lot when you consider how many hours they worked in the studio. 

You could expect them to work hard for hours, often through multiple-episode tapings. All the while they wore high heels and had perfect smiles. These hardworking women, who only had three models, were expected to be in the studio each day to perform this feat of endurance. 

Who is the Model for the Show Now?

Devin Goda, a male model, has worked on the show for many years. The Price is RighSince 2018, t has been a permanent model. Other permanent hosts with the show today are Amber Lancaster, James O’Holloran, Manuella Arbalaez, and Rachel Reynolds. Reynolds, who has been with the show for the longest time, is the only current model to have worked with Drew Carey as well as his predecessor Bob Barker.

How much do the models bring home?

Wages apparently haven’t changed much, with models now bringing in about $800 a day on a rotating shift. This works out to just over $2,000 per week. With more models on the roster, there’s more of a break between tapings. This allows models to pursue other careers. The Price is Right. Reynolds has certainly taken advantage of the show’s downtime to pursue other modeling contracts and guest acting appearances on sitcoms like How I Met Your MotherAnd soap operas The Bold And The Beautiful.

It is hard work, but it is worth it. The price is right is a pretty sweet gig so long as you don’t mind spending long hours on your feet. The models are one of the most fun parts of the show, so it’s only fair that they have a good time as well.
