Luke Friend, X-Factor’s singer, is now unrecognizable eight years after he first appeared on the series.

The 25 year-old songwriter has now sported a new dark mullet and swapped his dreadlocks with a blonde buzz cut.

Star now sports a moustache and a nose ring.

Luke keeps his 161 000 followers informed about his music career via social media.

His wardrobe now includes braces, high-waisted pants, and funky footwear instead of the patterned shirts that he wore on ITV.

Luke was part last month of a star-studded War Child bill that celebrated Beatle John Lennon’s 1981th birthday.

Ferne Cotton, Irvine Welsh (author) and Jack Savoretti were also part of the Dear John concert.

The Devon star was featured on the tenth series (2013) of X Factor and impressed judges Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow as well as Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne.

He was only 17 years old when he auditioned for the song “Stand By Me”.

Louis later mentored him in the Boys section. He made it through boot camp.

Luke ended up in the bottom 2 a few times during the live shows, but eventually reached the final.

After duetting with Ellie Goulding, he finished third in competition behind Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald.

Since the ITV competition, he has signed record agreements with RCA/BMG and toured Britain on his sell-out Hole in My Heart Tour.

Luke played St Jimmy on the musical version Green Day’s American Idiot album in 2019 while he toured the United States.

He met Siobhan ODriscoll while touring, who is a performing artist graduate.

He is currently signed to Humble Angel Records, an independent record label.

He released Watchtower, an album of seven tracks, in the spring as part his alt-rock group Yellowbelly.
